That's what I thought when I first saw Monument Valley. It really is one of His best works. It gives The Grand Canyon a run for its money in the beauty department. It took my breath away. All I could think while I was there, was that I've been to so many beautiful places in Europe and other parts of our country ... but those are all man made. This just happened. Granted, it took about a billion years ... but, you know what I mean. Everything here was once under the ocean ... now it is here for us to admire.
There are five Dineh families that still live on this land. What our guide, Jimmy, told us was that there used to be more, but the families eventually moved away because there is no work in the area and the younger generations are moving on to other places. I'm glad I was able to see the five that are still there.
These pictures really don't do it justice. You have to see it. I highly recommend it!
